IMPORTANT! If an ATM is already infected, cardholders can do absolutely nothing to protect their data. They will never even discover that the ATM is infected!
Only the bank—the entity that owns the ATM—can and MUST protect it by installing a specialised anti-virus.
Imagine that you’ve received an SMS message saying ‘Your bank card is blocked. To receive detailed information, contact ***.’ After receiving such an SMS message, you should immediately call your bank to inform them about the incident. Perhaps, you’ll still have time to recover the stolen funds or prevent a future theft.
Contact the bank via the phone number specified on the reverse side of the bank card!
If you became a victim of ATM Trojans, you can find more information on further actions you can take in the Doctor Web Legal section.
